More About Greg

Prior to becoming a financial advisor, Greg built a reputable career in both the pharmaceutical and aerospace industries. His experience spans purchasing, warehouse supervision, process engineering, inventory and production control, as well as operations management.

Born in Montebello, California, Greg stayed close to his Southern California roots serving his country as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, assigned to 3rd Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, Long Beach, California (1984 to 1990).

While in the USMCR, Greg attended Cerritos College, then earned a Bachelor of Arts degree (double major) in Economics and Geography from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

He later went on to achieve a Master of Arts from Biola University in La Mirada, California.

In 2014, Greg began his career in the financial services industry as the Office Manager for a small, independent Registered Investment Advisory firm in Whittier, CA. While obtaining invaluable on the job training over the next several years, Greg continued his studies and subsequently earned his Series 65 designation (Investment Advisor Representative) in 2018.

Today, working as a fiduciary financial advisor and President of New Wave Advisers, he is continuing to grow in his knowledge of the industry while attending the American College of Financial Services. Greg is currently working toward the designation Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP).

On a personal note, Greg has been married to his lovely wife, Juliana, since April of 1999.

Together, they have two boys, Nathaniel (born 2005) and Jonathan (born 2008), along with twin girls (born 2010), Chloe and Elise.

Juliana and Greg have kept their hands full over the years.

Juliana works as a Physician Assistant for a small family medical practice in La Palma, while still making time to homeschool their children. Greg has been coaching youth futsal and basketball since 2013 as well as serving as the Junior High Youth Pastor at Calvary Chapel since 1998.

In his spare time, Greg also rather enjoys river rafting at the Kern River, mowing his lawn, and cleaning out his garage every 3 months.

More About Gabe

Gabriel Ortiz has been in the financial services industry since 2015.

His experience spans from specializations in consumer relations, multimedia production and small business management to comprehensive, diverse networks of business owners, financial service providers, and legal professionals. This broad and varied background has given Gabriel a foundation for a solid, working knowledge of the securities industry. Gabriel understands the importance of tailoring his approach to every new project and is committed to meeting the needs of each and every New Wave client.

Growing up in Southern California, Gabriel pursued a variety of clubs, sports and hobbies. From filmmaking, to boxing, to rock climbing, Gabriel is recognized as the man of many talents in his family. Although his commitment to growth keeps him driven in his professional career, on the weekends you can find him exploring the great outdoors either fishing, camping, or hiking.

Gabriel is so passionate about supporting and empowering the people around him, he sits on the board of directors for the Global Awakened Initiative, a charity oriented towards teaching business management skills and financial literacy to individuals in underserved and underrepresented communities, both domestically and abroad.

More About Nathaniel

Nathaniel was born and raised in Los Angeles County. He started his career in the financial service industry in 2022. Since then, he has worked alongside Gabriel and his father as an Executive Assistant.

Nathaniel is currently attending Fullerton College, with the intent to transfer to a four-year university to achieve his bachelor’s degree.

Nathaniel has a friendly disposition and enjoys interacting with clients, understanding their concerns, and helping wherever he can along the financial planning process.

When Nathaniel is not in the office, you can find him studying, acting in a local theatre production, spending time with his friends, rolling at the Jiu Jitsu studio, or working out.
